I am Carson Reiners a female, multi-dimensional practitioner and researcher working in Choreography-Direction, Visual Art and 4E Cognition.  Born and raised in a small, rural town along the East Coast of the USA, I left home for New York City at sixteen to train and support myself through dance. Since then, I have continued along that journey, building a career which has spanned fifteen years that has produced a multitude of international collaborative projects between artists and organizations across Europe, Taiwan, Israel, India, South Africa, Peru, and the USA. This pathway has made me an accidental anthropologist and a lover of the unexpected, the unusual, the abandoned, and all the beauty that lies between which ultimately drives my work. I am currently completing a Master of Research (Practice as Research) at the University of Malta on a model for an ecological choreographic process routed in 4E cognition. Another aspect of my vision for the future of the arts is a more transdisciplinary approach to the arts and science.  I am American by birth, rooted in Europe academia (undergrad at CODARTS, NL and Anton Bruckner Universität, AU) with international connections on several continents of varying professional and artistic expertise.

Carson has been a recipient of several awards and grants. She is currently on an academic scholarship at the Univeristy of Malta for her research on an ecological choreographic model that is rooted in embedded and extended cognition. She is currently a SCICULTURE ambassador after an Erasmus grant. She is the recipient of the emerging artist residency and grant from the Krannert Center(IL), Danceworks Chicago Redux award(Chicago), and the IAP DCASE grant from the city of Chicago. She has been an Artist in Residence at Krannert Center, Keshet Center, Thinker’s Theatre, and Principle Studios.

From 2014-2018 she established her own platform for her creations in between Chicago and New York, while being a leading faculty at numerous dance studios, as well as guest workshops and choreographic opportunities.
